Anitox is an international corporation, manufacturing, antimicrobial preservatives for animal feeds, feed ingredients, and foodstuffs for human consumption.
Anitox Corp. was founded in 1977 by Dr. Bob Bland, a research scientist with Celanese Chemical Company. While at Celanese, Dr. Bland had spent nearly a decade studying molds and toxins in animal feeds. He was looking for a method to control or reduce mold contamination in feeds. This research led to the development of MonoProp Mold Killer, the most effective product available to control molds in animal feeds. Celanese did not want to market the product, but allowed Dr. Bland to resign and take the product with him.
Anitox was incorporated in Corpus Christi, Texas, and began using toll - production facilities in Atlanta, Georgia. Almost immediately, Dr. Bland found an international market for his patented mold inhibitor. During his first year, he shipped MonoProp to Taiwan and Portugal, as well as within the united States.
Anitox's product line has also expanded over the last two decades, with additions of liquid mold inhibitors, water additives, mycotoxin absorbers, avian antibodies, and the latest breakthrough in Salmonella Control, Termin - 8 Antimicrobial Food Additive.
Anitox is a pioneer in antimicrobial products. Through an extensive Research and development Center, Anitox is able to develop new products, wich are on the leading edge of technology. Anitox is at the forefront of Salmonella Control. Recent research has shown that Salmonella is just one of many microbiological contaminants causing health problems in poultry and livestock. This knowledge led to the development of a totally new concept in feed hygiene, The Termin-8 Clean Feed Program.
In April 1996, Anitox Received FDA approval, allowing the sale of Termin-8 to prevent Salmonella Contamination in poultry feeds and to protect against recontamination for up to 14 days. In October 1998 Anitox received approval for use of Termin-8 in all tupes of animal feeds and feed ingredients.
